Raw Materials

The primary raw materials for this process include quartz sand (SiO2 source) and caustic soda (NaOH). Quartz sand provides the silicon component, while caustic soda reacts with silicon dioxide to form sodium silicate.

Production Steps

1. Preparation of Solutions

   • Quartz sand and caustic soda are mixed in the batching tank according to the formulation.

2. Reaction

   • The quartz sand is then reacted with the caustic soda solution under controlled conditions (temperature, pressure, and mixing rate).
   • The reaction between SiO2 and NaOH produces sodium silicate (Na2SiO3) and water. This reaction can be represented as: SiO2 + 2NaOH → Na2SiO3 + H2O.

3. Filtration

   • After the reaction, any unreacted materials or impurities are removed through filtration, centrifugation, or sedimentation.
